59 Next we drive by Ellery Lake, where there is still some snow, and take the Tioga pass to Mono Lake.JPG

60 Mono Lake has high salinity and calcium rich fresh water wells up forming these deposits called tufas.JPG

61 Because of heavy water use by LA, the lake has decreased in size and the tufas can now be seen rising up from the water.JPG

62 We spend the night in Lone Pine, after a wonderful dinner and bottle of Merlot.JPG

64 The next morning we visit Manzanar where Japanese people were relocated to after Pearl Harbor, very sobering.JPG
